GHANAIAN LADY WANTS TO BREAK WORLD’S LONGEST SINGING MARATHON RECORD BY AMEGAH BENEDICTA.

The Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon by an individual may be broken this December.

Afua Asantewaa O Aduonum, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Askof Productions Limited, has sent in her application for the challenge.

The application for the attempt has been approved by the board of the Guinness World Record.

To break the current record of 105 hours, Afua is expected to sing for 117 hours.

At present, the longest singing marathon by an individual was by an Indian, Sunil Waghmare. It took place from 3 to 7 March 2012.

Speaking in a video shared on her Instagram, she explained that she was attempting to break this record to promote Ghana music to the world.

On her Instagram page, she also wrote: “This attempt is strictly for Ghanaian songs, we’re doing this to promote Ghanaian songs, from gospel, highlife, hip-life name it.”

Afua is also the organiser of GOWA Awards, Miss Kidi Ghana and Teen Queen Ghana.
